You must attend at least two of these tryout days, but are encouraged to make all four.
Comp (select) soccer tryouts for this season will be held Saturdays and Sundays on the following dates:

Comp(select) Soccer provides the opportunity to improve player skills, participate in tournament play, and challenges their abilities by playing at a level beyond the recreational league experience.
Tryout Details:
You must come prepared to tryouts. Be fully dressed for soccer play (wearing shin guards and approved soccer cleats), appropriate shorts and shirt. Wearing a prior team jersey is not allowed. Bring your own water and your own ball. Please remember to mark your ball with your last name on it. Teams will be selected after the final tryout date.
Each team will hold its own meeting. That meeting time is chosen by the team coach. Registration forms and team fees will be collected at that time for only those players selected. Team fees are typically for tournaments, equipment, camps and trainers. Team and uniform fees are not refundable. Club registration fees are in addition to team fees and uniform costs. IMPORTANT PARENT INFO: forms must be signed by a parent or legal guardian at the site or your child will not participate.
Note: Portable restroom is available at Charles Peck School.

What is Comp Soccer all about? (formerly known as "select soccer")
Comp soccer is for the dedicated family and player who is willing to commit extra time to practice and a longer season (22-25 games vs. 10 games for Recreation team schedule) which may include traveling away from this area to play games in an expanded league area as well as traveling to weekend tournaments as arranged by the team coach. Practices begin in June and weekend tournament play begins in August. Please plan your vacations accordingly to avoid your player missing tournaments in August!

Players must try out and be invited to join a select team. Each team averages 16 players except U11 and younger which will have fewer. We usually have two boys and girls teams per age grouping. You must participate in a minimum of two tryouts to be considered for selection to a Sierra Club team; you are encouraged to attend all four.
Comp players must also be registered with the Sierra Soccer Club. If you are chosen for a Select team, your team coach will provide the registration forms and collect a copy of the player birth certificate along with your registration fee (payable to SSC) at the April team meeting. If for some reason you have not registered with SSC for the 2012 soccer season by the end of April 2012, please see our Registration information page.
Other Details and Notes:
-Registration for select players can be done by coaches after tryouts are complete.
-Based on League rules, no player may be assured or offered a place on a team until all tryouts by said team have been completed. Registration for the Sierra SC will still be open at the end of tryouts.

Player Requirements:
-Soccer cleats, shin guards, water, shirt (no former jerseys)
-Bring a size appropriate ball (Size 4 for kids 8-12, Size 5 for players 13 and up) clearly marked with players name
-Wear weather appropriate attire as we will hold tryouts in light rain
-In the event of heavy rain...check our website for postponement and make up date.
-Jamba Juice will be at every tryout for purchase after you've enjoyed a session of soccer. Typically $4.00 (optional)
